A Professional Instructor at Your Service
Dr Anne E. Dyer
Born in Hull, I grew up in Grimsby. I studied BA Hons. in Ancient History and Archaeology at Manchester University. On meeting my husband my archaeological career was in ruins from the start! Instead, we attended Lebanon Missionary Bible College in Berwick and went to work in Thailand’s southern provinces with OMF from 1980-1993. Learning two languages and going on to supervise newer workers in the second language - a dialect of Malay - was actually a start in educating others.

Once in Grimsby again (1993 on), we served through our local church on a difficult council estate people for both church and town council. By 1999 I became involved in research once again with the Northumbria Community, which led to my taking an MTh, MPhil and finally a PhD on the history of Assemblies of God World Missions with the University of Bangor through Mattersey Hall.
From 2004-2017 I served as secretary for the European Pentecostal Theological Association (EPTA) and co-authored significant books and articles on Pentecostalism with Professor William K. Kay. We edited the Journal of the association and that taught me to proofread, critique and format academic work.

Since 2000 I served the students of Mattersey Hall as Librarian and Tutor. After a year on the faculty at Cliff College managing their PhD programme for missiology (2014-15), I found myself back at Mattersey Hall College as the Manager of our new Research Centre, overseeing the Pentecostal Heritage Centre/ Donald Gee Archive, lecturing and supporting students in their academic work from BA to Doctoral studies.

Colin and I have two children who are both grown and involved in Christian charities, serving the worldwide church. I have been a Methodist local preacher in Doncaster; I have loved leading mission teams abroad. I occasionally attempt to play the guitar and keyboard in our own church. Oh and Thai food features regularly at home! I work from home nowadays and care for my now disabled husband after 3 strokes. Zoom is therefore my main way of supporting students along with indicating how they can improve their work by standard emails.
Please contact me to see if I can support you in your work. Historical, Missional and Practical Theological and Religious studies are my main areas of expertise but I can advise generally on academic work in the humanities. Contact me on email - adyerdon@gmail.com will reach me probably better than the email attached to this site; I may close that email subscription.
